Main Street a bustle of activity for Halloween
Oct 31, 2024
In traditional Howl-O-Ween fashion, Main Street flooded with a costume-wearing mass Thursday night — human, canine and … pony?Moving into dusk, flurries filled the sky, the icy flakes drifting in the chilly breeze. The light snow was no obstacle for trick-or-treaters and their furry companions, collecting candy from the shops lining Main Street and other local businesses out participating amongst the crowd. Worthington Community Service Award winner. “You get to see everyones costumes.” To her, the event has become a tradition and a perfect place for her kids to start their evening. Outside of the Egyptian Theatre stood Jake Larabee, artistic director for the theater, disguised as Beetlejuice for the night. “Right now we’ve got ‘Sweeney Todd’ on stage,” he said, with tickets still available for the night’s show.Larabee welcomed attendees into the lobby to collect candy and stop by the box office while they were there. A couple, newly moved into town, joked they were scouting dog breeds while enjoying the festivities, and said the event was a chance to immerse themselves in a community tradition. Also new this year was the appearance of Cheerio and Simon, miniature ponies who at first glance passed for relatively large dogs. He’s Ken,” she said, introducing her mini.Festivities held strong beyond the scheduled time and continued into the night as groups dispersed — until next year. The post Main Street a bustle of activity for Halloween appeared first on Park Record.
