Bicyclist dead following Golden Meadow crash

GOLDEN MEADOW, La. (WGNO) — A bicyclist is dead following a crash that occurred in Golden Meadow on Wednesday evening, Oct. 30.
According to the Louisiana State Police, troopers with Troop C started investigating the crash, which happened on Louisiana Highway 3235 near La Salette Drive, shortly after 7 p.m.

The initial investigation showed that 60-year-old Carl Guidry, of Golden Meadow, was riding a bicycle east and trying to cross LA Highway 3235 when, simultaneously, a 2014 Dodge 2500 was heading north on the highway. For reasons that are still being investigated, Guidry didn't yield to the Dodge, and was hit.
Guidry was declared dead at the scene. The driver of the dodge was restrained and uninjured. He is not suspected of impairment and provided a breath sample that didn't detect any alcohol. A toxicology sample was taken from Guidry for analysis.
