Halloween candy prices have gone up due to inflation

MINOT, ND (KXNET) — Candy prices have gone up, but people are still buying.
KX News stopped by Cashwise Foods in Minot and spoke with Assistant Store Manager Jessica McMonigal, who says candy prices have gone up about 10-15%, compared to last year.
She adds that their store prices are up 2-3% and that it is directly tied to inflation.
They typically sell the same amount of candy, item-wise, but sales have gone up which is what they track.

Chocolate and mixed bags of candy seem to run out first and everything else, not so much.
"People are always going to come buy candy for Halloween. Our biggest sales increase are the week of Halloween. So these last three days we definitely see an influx of all of our candy going out the door," said McMonigal.
If you still need candy to pass out for the trick-or-treaters, some of their candy is already on sale, but not all of it.
