BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- The Kern County Superintendent of Schools building has been transformed, from Hotel Transylvania, to Andy's room and even Shrek's Swamp. This place has been taken over, and kids and adults alike are taking advantage. "Today is Halloween and at Kern County Superintendent of Schools, it is a special day for us," said Director of Community Relations, Amanda Frank. Dressed like firemen, the fairy godmother, Buzz Lightyear and even mythical creatures such as a unicorn, they invaded the different realms to get their fill of candy. Amanda Frank says this lets kids enjoy Halloween in a way that is also safe. "We decorate, we have a really fun time...our employees get into costumes and the students come through the different rooms that we have decorated," said Frank. "They get to experience Halloween in a fun and safe way." Frank says this also allows employees to let loose and feed their inner child. "We serve students in the entire county, so I think for all of us it's a great way to give back and to actually have an opportunity to have fun at our jobs, but to get to see the students as well," said Frank.
