BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- North of the River Recreation and Park District is looking forward to the events for the rest of the year. Jasmin LoBasso with the park district joined 17 News with more details on the events. In November, NOR is set to host the Plant a Flag ceremony at Liberty Park's Liberty Garden. Community members can purchase a flag for $5 and plant it in the field. The event is set for Nov. 8 from 8:30 a.m. to 9 a.m., according to the district's website. The district is set to host Love Your Park at Riverview Park in Oildale on Nov. 9, from 10 a.m. to noon. There will be free activities, according to the district's website Lobasso said there is scheduled to be a Holiday Lights contest where community members tag the district on social media to be entered into a contest.
