AUSTIN (KXAN) — For a half, the Weiss Wolves looked like they were about to take down the No. 5 team in Class 5A-Division I. Then, the second half happened. Wilson provided two highlight-reel plays that went for scores — turning a short pass from Jaxon Schad into a 72-yard touchdown and a trick play that had him wide open for Daniel Berry to hit for 62 yards. Weiss running back Braiden Wooley scampered for a 43-yard touchdown run late in the first half to give the Wolves a 31-14 lead. Weiss scored late on a 2-yard run by Nick Johnson, his second rushing touchdown of the game, but the Wolves didn't recover the ensuing onside kick. Weiss (7-2, 5-2) faces off with Anderson in the final regular season game of the season Nov. 8. College Station (8-1, 6-1) has a bye in the last week and has extra time to prepare for the state playoffs.
