SELMA, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - A Selma man was indicted on Thursday for allegedly being in possession of stolen firearms while being a felon, according to the Department of Justice.
The DOJ says that Daniel Joseph Valencia, a 26-year-old from Selma, was allegedly found to be in possession of three firearms that had recently been reported as stolen on April 28, according to court documents.
On Thursday the DOJ says a grand jury returned a one-count indictment against Valencia, charging him with being a felon in possession of a firearm.
According to the DOJ, Valencia cannot legally possess firearms because he has been previously convicted of several felony offenses, including aggravated assault and domestic violence.
If convicted, the DOJ says that Valencia faces a maximum statutory penalty of 15 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
