A New York State Trooper was shot while trying to help a driver Wednesday night, according to multiple reports.Authorities told the New York Post that the shooting occurred around 11:30 p.m. on the Southern State Parkway in West Hempstead, Long Island. Initial reports said the incident involved a traffic stop with a black Dodge Charger, but officials said that was not the case.
