ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – A man who opened fire on another vehicle during a road rage incident in Albuquerque entered into a plea deal in court Thursday. Paul Marquez shot at another vehicle on Paseo Del Norte near 2nd Street in May, while in front of a New Mexico State Police officer. The officer pulled Marquez over and he claimed the other driver cut him off, however, dashcam video showed that wasn't true. Teen shot in the head in Rio Rancho, police say The video also showed Marquez firing the shots. Marquez admitted to the crime in court and then pleaded guilty to one count of shooting at a motor vehicle with a firearm enhancement. As part of the deal, he had two assault charges dropped. Judge David Murphy accepted the plea deal and explained the state agrees on a cap of five years at sentencing.
