RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- An iguana found on the streets of Richmond is now up for adoption after being taken in by Richmond Animal Care and Control. The iguana, named "Iggy" by shelter staff, is around three feet long and believed to be around 3 or 4 years old. According to the shelter, she has an old fracture in her spine and an injured foot which requires antibiotics injections every three days for a month and a foot soak with topical cream. Given her condition, the shelter is looking for a person with experience caring for reptiles to give Iggy a "soft place to land." If you are interested in adopting Iggy, you are asked to send an email to [email protected] including your experience with iguanas and reptiles and whether your home as other pets or children.
