EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The East Providence Elks Lodge said it is partnering with nonprofit Rucking for Roofs to hold a red carpet gala and 24-mile walk to benefit homeless veterans. The gala is set to be held on Nov. 2 at the Hillside Country Club in Rehoboth and will include a dinner and cocktail hour. The 24-mile walk will be a ruck, where participants will have weight on their back, will be on Nov. 11 and will stretch from the Bristol Elks Lodge to the East Providence Elks Lodge.
