DEER CREEK, Okla. (KFOR) - A Deer Creek teenager continues to take the Halloween spirit to another level. His family’s home has decorations galore in their front yard, a haunted house made right in their own garage, and more decorations in the backyard. It’s all a tradition going on 6 years now. "So welcome to the carnival,” 16-year-old Austin Huckaby said as he welcomed us into his carnival themed haunted house. Even in the daylight Thursday morning, Huckaby’s creepy carnival showed off its frightening aura. "It's super fun,” Huckaby said. A graveyard with multiple static and animatronic objects sit in the front yard and driveway, but that's only part of it. The show goes on inside the family’s garage with a full haunted house. "So it's really supposed to just look like you're in a big carnival tent,” Huckaby said as we walked through. Clowns greet you around almost every corner as if you’re watching a carnival act. Prizes hang from the wall in sort of a showroom style, before it leads you back outside. "You basically just follow the arrows,” Huckaby said. Then, it leads you right to their backyard where there’s an oasis of a dead haunted harvest that even caught our photographer off guard. 4WARN WEATHER: More trick than treat in this Halloween 4Cast Huckaby’s masterpiece is in its sixth year. Since he was 10 years old, he knew Halloween was his favorite holiday as he fell in love with the animatronics and displays before he eventually decided to buy them and create his own. "I love seeing everyone's reaction to like when I buy a new thing,” he said. “Then like, the jump scares, people are getting scared. So much fun.” It’s a multi-month set up with everything going out around August or September. Around 1,000 people came by last year. It’s free to get in, but donations are encouraged. Even after some mishaps due to overnight storms, Huckaby isn’t letting that get in the way of preparation for a night of fear near 164th and Macarthur on Halloween night. The Huckaby’s usually bring people in for two nights, on the 30th and 31st. Due to the storms they were only able to do it on the 31st this year. They start letting people in around 6:30 p.m. and will have popcorn and cotton candy to give out before it ends around 9:30 p.m. Their house is located at the corner of Whispering Winds Lane and NW 160th Terrace.
