LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW)- Center Amari Williams is day to day ahead of Kentucky men’s basketball’s season opener on Monday.
“Imaging was really good, really positive,” said Head Coach Mark Pope. “He won’t do anything yet, just free throws today. We’re hopeful that he’ll be back soon. We’ll proceed with caution and urgency.”
The Wildcats host Wright State at 7 p.m. at Rupp Arena and seem to be at full strength aside from the Englishman’s injury.
After Williams left the exhibition game versus Minnesota State on Tuesday, UK played Andrew Carr and Ansley Almonor at center.
Pope indicates that his team will continue to practice with different lineups to cope with Williams’ absence.
