Over 200 staff members of Prisma Health Children’s Hospital take part in “Halloween Parade”

COLUMBIA, SC (WOLO) — Halloween would not be complete without costumes and a little trick-or-treating.
So, the staff at Prisma Health Children’s Hospital brought the candy right to the kids during their annual Halloween Parade Thursday morning.
The parade continues to grow in size, with nearly 200 team members making their way through the halls of the children’s hospital for what they call reverse-trick-or-treating.
Over 30 groups of doctors, nurses, specialists, and staff members dress up and hand out candy and goodies to make sure the kids have a good time.
And when it comes to costumes, there’s no shortage of creativity.
The Care Bears, Scooby-Doo and the gang, and Beetlejuice can be seen making their rounds along with the Sanderson sisters from “Hocus Pocus” and the chefs from “Ratatouille.”
But patient Roman Conrad says his favorite — is the Harry Potter team.
His message to the other patients? “Never give up.”
Devon Osborne’s daughter Harmony has stayed at the hospital now for two weeks. He finds the parade makes things a little easier.
“Makes you feel like there’s still hope in the world. Every time you see the news, there’s something bad going on. For this to happen, it really makes you think that kind people still exist,” Osborne says.
Prisma Health Children’s Hospital reports more than 150,000 children’s visits each year, with over 350 professionals available to its patients.
