North Dakota man found not guilty in animal cruelty case
Oct 31, 2024
NORTH DAKOTA (KXNET) — A North Dakota man has been found not guilty in an alleged animal cruelty case, in which the incident was captured on video and posted on social media. That man will not face any jail time after he was cleared of a misdemeanor charge of animal cruelty.
The cell phone video in question shows a man killing a small cat with a shovel. The incident happened last August at a company south of Menoken.
The case was tried this week in Burleigh County, but first resulted in a hung jury. Jurors then returned and found him not guilty.
That verdict is not sitting well with animal advocates.
