Police: Disturbance call ends with accused drug dealer arrested in Baton Rouge

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — The Baton Rouge Police Department arrested an accused drug dealer after responding to a disturbance call.
Devon Robinson, 43, of Baton Rouge was charged with manufacture, distribution or possession with the intent to distribute Schedule II drug, two counts of possession of legend drug without a prescription and possession of drug paraphernalia.
According to the Baton Rouge Police Department, on Oct. 28, officers responded to a disturbance call at a hotel on North Harrell's Ferry Road. The caller told the police a Black male wearing a black shirt, blue jean shorts and white tennis shoes had pointed a gun at them and was in possession of drugs.
Upon arrival, deputies knocked on the door and Robinson opened the door. When Robinson noticed it was the police, Robinson ran into the hotel's restroom. Officers reported hearing the toilet flush, which is consistent with evidence destruction.

After exiting the restroom, officers took Robinson into custody and gave officers consent to enter the hotel room. Officers saw a clear substance on the bed.
A search warrant was granted for the hotel room when officers recovered 27.1 grams of suspected methamphetamine, one dosage unit of suspected Bacoflen and one dosage unit of suspected Sevelamer Calcium. Officers also found bags and scales.
Officers later learned Robinson did not have a prescription for Bacoflen and Sevelamer Calcium.
Police said Robinson admitted everything in the room belonged to him. Robinson was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison and a $7,500 has been set, according to arrest records.
