AUSTIN (KXAN) — A man was convicted by a jury and sentenced by a judge to life in prison without the possibility of parole related to the continuous sexual abuse of a child in Hays County.
According to court documents, 59-year-old Randall Mosbey, of Kyle, was sentenced Oct. 18.
The Hays County Criminal District Attorney’s Office said Mosbey was also found guilty of invasive visual recording, which he pleaded guilty to at the beginning of his trial.
“The evidence in trial showed that Randall Mosbey sexually abused a child over the course of several years starting when the child was around 7 years old,” the DA’s office said. “The defendant also placed hidden cameras in the victim's bathroom and bedroom and during that investigation by law enforcement, the victim came forward to the detective and disclosed all of the years of sexual abuse.”
Hays County DA Kelly Higgins said cases of this nature are a high priority for the office, saying justice would come to those who harm children, no matter how much time has passed.
