Happy Halloween DMV! There's not much spooky about the forecast today unless you're not a fan of warm weather. Clear skies and southerly winds have shot up temperatures this morning, and we're on pace to hit the low to mid-80s later this afternoon. Record highs across the area are in the same range, so this will likely be the warmest Halloween ever for a few locations. As you head out to enjoy Halloween celebrations or take the kids out to trick-or-treat, it will still be warm, with temperatures barely falling into the 70s. Clouds will be rolling in as the wind picks up, but you should be in the clear, with the cold front causing all of this not arriving until after midnight. We'll end the month of October on a 30-day dry stretch, and we're in desperate need of some rain. Unfortunately, this cold front doesn't appear to be our answer. The best chance for a few isolated showers overnight will be along and west of I-81, with any rain showers falling apart as they move east into Friday morning. While there is a chance of a few raindrops across DC and the I-95 corridor, it's more likely that most of the area will not see any rain. Clouds clearing in the afternoon will push highs back into the 70s tomorrow before chillier air arrives Friday night. Morning lows on Saturday will be down into the 30s and 40s, with highs only climbing back into the 60s under sunny skies during the afternoon. Dry conditions continue with a few more clouds and similar temperatures on Sunday. If we don't see any rain tonight, this prolonged dry stretch shows no sign of stopping next week. High pressure will be back off the Atlantic Coast on Monday and Tuesday, bringing temperatures back into the middle to upper 70s under a partly cloudy sky. A front will slide east into this warmer air by next Wednesday and Thursday, bringing the chance of isolated showers. At this point, sustained or steady rainfall doesn't look likely, so we won't get any help with this ongoing rainfall deficit for a while. Have a fantastic and spooky rest of your Halloween! 7-Day Forecast: Halloween: Partly cloudy and very warm.
