SF Fire crews knock down 2alarm fire in Noe Valley, 5 displaced

SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) -- Seventy firefighters responded to a two-alarm residential fire in San Francisco’s Noe Valley neighborhood early Thursday morning, according to the San Francisco Fire Department. The blaze was contained by 3 a.m. and displaced five residents.
The fire, which started at around 2:30 a.m. at 1383 Sanchez Street, was spotted by arriving crews on the second floor of the three-story multi-residential home, SFFD said. Firefighters worked to contain the flames and keep the fire from spreading to adjoining homes.

The fire was contained within a half hour in one home with two units, according to SFFD.
No injuries were reported, and all the occupants self-evacuated. Three adults and two children were displaced from the fire and are being assisted by the Red Cross.

A live electrical wire fell onto an arriving fire truck, fire officials said. Crews recognized the hazard before any injury. Pacific Gas and Electric Company responded and were able to deenergize the wire.
According to officials, the cause of the fire is accidental and electrical.
