WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) -- If you get a phone call from someone claiming to be with the Kansas Corporation Commission and the person offers you a 30% discount on your electric bill, don't fall for it.
The real KCC says the caller is not with the commission. According to the KCC, the caller asks about Medicare or Medicaid eligibility and then requests a credit card number so the refund can be applied.
The KCC wants people to be cautious if they get the phone call. Do not provide credit card information.
Cold Weather Rule starts Nov. 1 in Kansas
The KCC regulates public utilities in the state and is the agency that decides if and when a utility company can raise rates.
