TYBEE ISLAND, Ga. (WSAV) - The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) District 5 has announced they will work daily to remove the marsh wrack from U.S. Highway 80.
The marsh buildup on the roadway stems from the last two storms, Hurricane Helene and Tropical Storm Debby.
Drivers can expect delays and traffic protocols during this work until about 3:30-4:00 p.m each day until cleanup is complete.
Traffic configuration will be ongoing. GDOT encourages patience during this process.
