Here is a look at the top game involving Inland high school football teams on Friday, Nov. 1 FRIDAY’S TOP GAMES BASELINE LEAGUE Damien (7-2, 4-0) at Rancho Cucamonga (6-3, 3-1), 7 p.m. IE Varsity info: Damien already has clinched a playoff berth and at least a share of the league title. Rancho Cucamonga can claim a share of the title with a win, and the Cougars secure a playoff spot with victory or a loss by Upland. Damien’s Isaiah Arriaza has thrown for 2,378 yards and 23 touchdowns, and Travon Garrison has caught 41 passes for 839 yards and 11 touchdowns. Linebacker Caden Arellano leads the Spartans on defense with 67 tackles. Rancho Cucamonga looks to bounce back from a 31-21 loss to Chino Hills. Keyonn Chatman leads the ground attack with 535 yards, and Cameron Sermons is averaging 21.5 yards per catch for the Cougars. Linebackers Arden Benson and Noah Fa’apito have combined for 137 tackles. Chaparral also has secured a playoff berth and can claim a share of the title with a win. Centennial has won seven straight, including a 60-21 victory over Norco last week. Husan Longstreet has passed for 1,425 yards and 18 touchdowns and added five scores on the ground for the Huskies. Cory Butler Jr. has caught 41 passes for 660 yards and scored 11 total touchdowns. Edge rusher Jonathan McKinley II has 48 tackles and a team-high 7 1/2 sacks. Chaparral cruised to a 49-0 win over Roosevelt last week. Dane Weber has thrown for 2,067 yards and 23 touchdown and also rushed for 714 yards and nine scores. Michael “Kiko” Farinas has caught 40 passes for 526 yards and six scores for the Pumas. The Wolfpack need a win or a Temecula Valley loss to guarantee a spot in the postseason. King needs to win and have Temecula Valley lose to Corona to make sure its fate is not decided by a tiebreaker. King looks to snap a two-game skid. Noah Cuenca has passed for 1,124 yards and 11 touchdowns in six games, and Brian Robinson has rushed for 779 yards and scored eight touchdowns. Kaleo Browne leads the Wolves on defense with 89 tackles. Great Oak held on for a 28-22 win over Temecula Valley last week. Yucaipa needs to win and have Citrus Valley lose to secure an automatic berth without tiebreakers being involved. Cajon has won three straight, including a 44-13 win over Citrus Valley last week. Evan Powell has thrown for 1,664 yards and 23 touchdowns, and Brandon Rivers has rushed for 1,136 yards and nine touchdowns for the Cowboys. Linebacker Taylor Johnson leads all Inland players with 133 tackles. Yucaipa is coming off a 38-20 victory over Redlands. Moreno Valley has won four straight, including a 49-28 victory over Lakeside last week. Trevon “Tre” Williams leads the Vikings’ ground attack with 1,019 yards and 11 touchdowns. Quarterback Syree Matthews has added 790 yards and 12 scores on the ground. Linebacker Malele Vaiolo leads the defense with 96 tackles. Canyon Springs outlasted Perris 53-40 last week to extend its winning streak to eight. Angel Robles has passed for 2,039 yards and 30 touchdowns, and Andre Larry has rushed for 985 yards and 18 touchdowns for the Cougars. Nose tackle Howard Smith leads the defense with 54 tackles. Prediction: Canyon Springs IVY LEAGUE Orange Vista (5-4, 4-0) at Rancho Verde (6-3, 4-0), 7 p.m. IE Varsity info: This is the third straight year the Ivy League championship will be decided by these two programs in the final week of the regular season. It also marks the third meeting between Orange Vista coach Greg Zomalt and Rancho Verde coach Eric Zomalt. Greg owns a 2-0 record over his younger brother. Orange Vista has won four straight, including a 41-0 victory over North last week. The Coyotes are led on offense by quarterback Khalil Abdul Aziz and on defense by lineman Iese Magalei. Colony can claim a share of the title with a win. The Titans also secure a playoff berth with a victory or a Glendora loss. Bonita remained unbeaten with a 49-21 win over Charter Oak. Travis Lippert has passed for 1,790 yards and 26 touchdowns, and Dylan Robinson has 27 catches for 669 yards and nine touchdowns. Linebacker Noah Mikhail leads the Bearcats on defense with 86 tackles. Colony is coming off a 45-7 win over Claremont. Elijah Ybanez has rushed for 504 yards and 10 touchdowns, and he also leads the defense with 48 tackles. Defensive end Jamier Moss has six sacks for the Titans. Prediction: Bonita SKYLINE LEAGUE Fontana (5-4, 2-2) at Bloomington (4-5, 2-2), 7 p.m. IE Varsity info: The winner of this game secures the league’s third and final automatic playoff berth, while the loser will have to hope for an at-large selection. Fontana rolled to a 40-8 win over Arroyo Valley last week. Ruben Camacho, Christian Perez, and Rashawn Williams have combined to rush for 1,335 yards and 18 touchdowns. Linebacker Alexis Lomeli leads the Steelers on defense with 69 tackles. Bloomington routed Norte Dame 49-0 last week. Nicholas Seventy, Ricardo Sanchez, and Aaron Perez-Soto have combined to rush for 1,955 yards and 19 touchdowns. Linebacker Gilbert Everhart leads the Bruins’ defense with 53 tackles and eight sacks. Prediction: Fontana SUNBELT LEAGUE Rancho Christian (7-1-1, 4-0) at Hemet (9-0, 4-0), 7 p.m. IE Varsity info: Both teams have secured a playoff berth, and Friday night’s winner will be crowned league champion. Rancho Christian has won four straight, including a 30-21 victory over Hillcrest last week. Emilano Villarreal has passed for 1,388 yards and 17 touchdowns in only four games, and Kamryn Jones has caught 32 passes for 599 yards and six touchdowns over the past two weeks. Summit has won six straight, including a 38-0 victory over Jurupa Hills last week. Mark Mitchell III has rushed for 949 yards and 14 touchdowns and also leads the defense with 64 tackles and five sacks. Linebacker Evan Ramos has tallied 63 tackles for the SkyHawks. Eisenhower started the season 0-6, but the Eagles now find themselves in a position to win a league title. Brayden Wann has thrown for 1,603 yards and 17 touchdowns, and Marcus Brown has caught 56 passes for 616 yards and eight touchdowns. Linebacker Andrew Cruz leads the defense with 58 tackles.
