Bradyn Willis, a 12-year-old Smithfield resident, and his father have filled their yard with around 60 animatronic creatures, from ghouls to ghosts to goblins, all ready to give visitors a fright. Bradyn’s love for building these life-sized figures started three years ago when he discovered YouTube tutorials, sparking a shared passion project with his dad. For Bradyn, who has autism, this Halloween display has a purpose beyond just fun scares. The showcase also raises donations for Autism Speaks, turning the Willis’ home into a hub for community support and autism awareness. Bradyn and his family hope that each visitor who enjoys the spooky scenes will also contribute to helping others affected by autism.
