PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — A Cranston man who served six years in prison for a 2012 bank robbing spree has admitted to robbing one of the banks a second time in 2019. Justin Worley, 44, known as the “Bearded Bandit” told a federal judge that he robbed an East Providence bank on New Year’s Eve in 2019. Worley approached a teller and demanded they empty their money drawers while his accomplice, Nicholas Lage, 38, brandished a knife. Worley and Lage exited the bank with $12,000 and were seen and arrested at Twin River casino later that night. Worley pled guilty Wednesday to conspiracy to commit bank robbery and bank robbery. He will be sentenced January 30, 2025. Lage pled guilty in April 2021 to conspiracy to commit bank robbery and bank robbery and was sentenced on August 6, 2021 to 36 months in prison.  Categories: News, Rhode Island
