Abandoned New Orleans townhouse destroyed by 2alarm fire

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The New Orleans Fire Department is investigating the cause of a two-alarm fire in New Orleans on Wednesday, Oct. 30.
According to the NOFD officials, at 10:03 p.m. a call came in reporting a fire at the corner of Skyview and Airway drives. Firefighters arrived at 10:07 p.m. to find an abandoned two-story townhouse on Airway Drive fully engulfed in flames.

A second alarm was called at 10:08 p.m.

NOFD officials said firefighters were able to keep the flames contained to the original home and away from the occupied homes nearby. The connecting home reportedly suffered moderate fire and water damage.
In total, 17 NOFD units carrying 42 fire operations personnel were able to get the fire under control by 10:35 p.m.

There were no injuries reported from the public or fire personnel.
