The Live Better Foundation will offer free hearing tests and hearing aids for low-income Baltimore-area residents ahead of the holiday season.The foundation’s free “Gift of Hearing” community event will take place Friday, Nov. 8, at 12 p.m.The goal is to help more than 30 local people gain access to critical hearing care, supported by licensed audiologists from Live Better Hearing + Balance, a family-owned audiology practice with locations across Maryland.According to recent studies, too many people forgo hearing health care because of the expense and financial limitations. This impacts their quality of life and overall well-being and health. More than 28 million Americans who could benefit from hearing aids do not use them, citing cost as the issue.Untreated hearing loss correlates to higher risk of depression, social isolation, cognitive decline, and decreased earning potential. The “Gift of Hearing” community event aims to prevent that from happening by providing low-income residents with on-site hearing tests, ear inspections, and free hearing aids to improve quality of life and community health – all free of charge.The Live Better Foundation is dedicated to bringing hearing health care to underserved communities in the cities and towns they serve, and make sure finances are not a barrier to better hearing and ear health.
