Generation ROC: 12yearold and friends treated to Five Below birthday shopping spree

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) -- It would be hard to find a bigger Five Below fan than Brooke Ellis who knows just where to go to find all the goods.
"This place is cool and it has all the toys in it!" says Brooke while standing in the Five Below store on Monroe Avenue.
“Brooke the Brave”—as her mom, Krystle, calls her—had a rough start to life. She was born early and with many congenital health issues. That’s why Krystle says she wanted to celebrate Brooke’s twelfth birthday and her fighting spirit in an extra special way.
"For this birthday, we asked her what kind of party do you want? She said I want a Five Below themed party and that meant Five Below cups and plates, and I said you know what, we’ll see what we can do," Krystle explains to News 8.
Well Five Below had more in mind—much, much more! When company representatives heard Brooke's story and her special birthday wish, they decided to shut the Monroe Avenue store down for a few hours this weekend and provided a generous gift card so Brooke and all her friends could “let go and have fun”.
"It was wild! To say okay, we are going to give you the store, and Brooke was screaming! She is a complete Five Below fan," Krystle says.
"I’m super excited, because everybody is here, and my friends, my family, everyone is here," says Brooke.
While Brooke has worked hard challenging herself and showing her special abilities, Krystle says the community has also rallied behind them every step of the way. One more reason to bring some of Brooke’s differently-abled classmates to the shopping spree as a way to say, thank you.
"We are truly a family. With the complications that Brooke has had in her life, we had to hold near and dear to the people who are around us, and they’ve never failed us. We are like this really tight knit group of special needs parents and caregivers of all the kiddos who are differently abled," concludes Krystle.
