McKee to discuss conclusion of the ILO investigation
Oct 31, 2024
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Governor Dan McKee will discuss the conclusion of the ILO investigation this afternoon.
Attorney General Peter Neronha’s outlined the results of the investigation Wednesday, saying he found McKee steered the contract to ILO against the findings of a state review team.
He did say there was no evidence to justify a prosecution.
McKee said the findings confirmed no wrongdoing took place, adding he was disappointed that “so much time and taxpayer dollars were wasted.”
McKee’s full statement can be read below:
“Yesterday’s report confirms what we’ve been saying for years. No wrongdoing took place and our priority has and will always be delivering for the people of Rhode Island. It’s unfortunate that so much time and taxpayer dollars were wasted on an effort that was always going to come up empty, but now it’s important that we all move forward and continue focusing on the issues that are impacting Rhode Islanders every day.”
