NORTH PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — North Providence police are asking the public’s help as they search for a missing man. According to police, he was last seen on Wednesday afternoon around 1 p.m. carrying a light-colored backpack walking towards Charles Street in the Woodward Road area of North Providence. Police said they believe he could be heading towards the Lincoln/Cumberland area. He’s described as a white male in his mid-50s, approximately 5’6 and 150 pounds, with short gray hair.
