MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Happy Halloween. Today is the day to celebrate all things spooky while getting lots of candy. Do you have your costumes ready? There are so many ways to get out and celebrate tonight all across the greater Memphis area. For starters, if you don't want to wait for the sun to go down to take your little one trick or treating, head over to the Orange Mound branch of Memphis Public Libraries. From 1 p.m. until 5:30 p.m., candy, crafts, and fun will be available. From 3 p.m. until 5 p.m., treats and celebrations will be held at the Hollywood branch. ► WEEKLY EVENTS IN MEMPHIS After the library's celebration, the Memphis Police Department will host a Halloween asylum at the library from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. There will also be trunks or treats at the Marion Hale Community Center and the Ridgeway station with officers. If you want to get out and do something active instead of collecting candy, there is a spooky skate on Riverside Drive today from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Memphis Riverparks is offering free 30-minute skate rentals. There is a costume contest at 6:15 p.m. Mall-o-ween at the Wolfchase Galleria runs Thursday from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Stores will be giving away candy and treats.
