COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) – Two people are dead in separate vehicle crashes that both occurred in southeast Ohio on Wednesday. According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, troopers are investigating two crash scenes, one in Hocking County, the other in Perry County. Man found shot dead outside far west Columbus apartment building The first crash occurred Wednesday at 4:38 p.m. on Carbon Hill Buchtel Road near Nelsonville. Brian Campbell, 41, was riding a 2013 Harley Davidson Dyna Wide Glide, heading northbound, while at the same time a person driving a 2008 Scion xB was heading southbound. An investigation revealed the Campbell drove left of the centerline around a curve and struck the Scion. Campbell then veered off the left side of the road, and struck a guardrail, which overturned the motorcycle. Campbell was taken to Hocking Valley Community Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. No other injuries were reported. The second crash occurred at around 11:30 p.m. when the Lancaster Post of the OSHP responded to reports of a single-vehicle crash on Rush Creek Road, near State Route 13 in Reading Township near Somerset, Ohio. Troopers discovered that a 2013 Lincoln Continental, driven by a 68-year-old man, was traveling eastbound when he failed to negotiate a curve. The car veered off the right side of the road, struck a guard rail and traveled down an embankment, before overturning. The driver was taken to Genesis Hospital in Somerset where he was pronounced dead. The man’s identity is being withheld until next of kin can be notified.
