WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (WGHP) — On this Recipe Wednesday, we’re whipping up desserts and drinks using favorite flavors of fall. Shannon Smith stops by Dream Kreams in Winston-Salem for the recipes.
Pumpkin Butter
Ingredients:
1 large can of pumpkin puree (29 oz can)
1 stick of salted butter
1 cup dark brown sugar
1 cup sugar
1 TBSP cinnamon
1 TSP nutmeg
3 TBSP Vanilla
½ tsp salt
Instructions:
Add a can of pumpkin puree and butter to the pan on medium heat, add dark brown sugar, sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Stir occasionally until the butter has melted and the ingredients are fully incorporated.
Reduce heat to low then add vanilla and salt. Stir then allow to simmer for 5 minutes.
Pumpkin Syrup
Ingredients:
1 cup of Pumpkin Butter (recipe above)
1/3 cup dark brown sugar
½ tsp pumpkin spice
½ stick of salted butter
Directions:
To a small pan on medium-low heat add all ingredients stirring occasionally until butter melts.
Pumpkin Cinnamon Buns
Ingredients:
1 can of Grands Cinnamon Buns (5 count)
1 pint heavy cream,
½ cup pumpkin syrup
Directions:
Pre Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Pour heavy cream into a pan until the bottom of the pan is just covered (save some to pour on top of cinnamon buns).
Place cinnamon buns in the pan and pour a splash of cream and pumpkin syrup on top (make sure to cover each roll).
Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Let cool for 10 minutes. Drizzle the icing that came with the cinnamon buns (optional).
Pumpkin Chai Latte
Ingredients:
3 tbsp pumpkin syrup (previous recipe)
1 cup chai concentrate
½ cup milk of choice
Directions:
Combine all ingredients, stir until incorporated, and heat for a hot latte
For iced, skip heating and add ice
Pumpkin Pie S'more Iced Latte
Ingredients:
3 tbsp pumpkin syrup
Double shot of espresso or 1 cup of coffee
½ cup milk of choice
Marshmallow Fluff
Chocolate Syrup
Whipped cream
Graham Crackers
Directions:
Add pumpkin syrup, milk chocolate syrup, and marshmallow fluff to coffee to dissolve.
Line the middle of the cup with marshmallow fluff.
Stir the coffee mixture well.
Pour coffee mixture over ice, and top with whipped cream, chocolate and graham crackers.
