Teenager dead after north Columbus shooting

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) – A teenager is dead after a north Columbus shooting occurred just after midnight Wednesday morning.
According to Columbus police, officers responded to a call that a male individual had been shot near the North Linden intersection of East Weber Road and Hewey Road at 12:03 a.m. A boy believed to be in his mid-to-late teens, approximately 15-17 years old, was found lying on the sidewalk on the south side of East Weber Road.

The teenager was taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition but was pronounced dead soon afterward.

Multiple witnesses were at the scene of the shooting and police believe the shooting was a result from an altercation with three other males. Three suspects have been detained but no arrests have been made as of 5:30 a.m. Wednesday.
No additional suspect information is currently available, and no other injuries were reported. Police ask that anyone with information to call the Homicide Unit at 614-645-4730.
