ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – An Albuquerque motel is looking at costly repairs after a car plowed into the front of their building on Monday night. Video showed that car flying down Central Ave. and crashing into the Rodeway Inn. No one was badly hurt but the owner of the motel says it will cost anywhere between $125,000-$200,000 to repair the damage. "I'm not sure if it was road rage or what it was but someone was speeding they kind of ramped up and slammed right into our canopy last night," said Dawson Jariwala, owner of Rodeway Inn.

Witnesses said they saw the car traveling around 60 to 70 miles per hour on Central Ave, near I-25, and hit a curb. The owner said the car knocked down the columns holding up the parking overhang in front of the main entrance. "It is a little frustrating, a little sad, um we had so much planned progress for our hotel and unfortunately this delay is a major setback for us. So it's frustrating but it's just many many business owners here in Albuquerque deal with those frustrations," said Jariwala. He said he's seen a number of car accidents and close calls along that stretch.
The motel will remain in operation but their front office will be closed. Albuquerque Fire Rescue said no one was badly hurt but the driver was taken to the hospital. The Albuquerque Police Department said they are still investigating and no one has been arrested.
