Four people in critical condition after headon crash in Prince George

PRINCE GEORGE COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Four people were severely injured in a head-on collision in Prince George County on Tuesday, with the crash shutting down the roadway.
First responders with Prince George County Fire & EMS were called to the 8400 block of County Drive at about 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct 29 for report of a head-on collision. According to fire officials, a caller told them that victims were trapped in their vehicles.
When they arrived, first responders found that the two involved cars were significantly damaged and one person was trapped inside their vehicle. Firefighters successfully freed them.

In total, four people were taken to local hospitals in critical condition. Three were taken by ambulance and one person was airlifted by helicopter.

All lanes of County Drive in the area of the crash, both eastbound and westbound, were closed for multiple hours following the crash. They have since reopened as of 10:16 p.m., according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.
