NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — A New Orleans EMS ambulance was illegally driven away with personnel still inside on Tuesday evening, Oct. 29. According to the New Orleans Police Department, shortly before 6:55 p.m., EMS responded to a call at Ozanam Inn on Poydras Street. Kentwood man accused of raping a juvenile While paramedics treated a patient in the back of the ambulance, a woman reportedly got in the cab and drove the ambulance away with the emergency personnel still inside, who subsequently notified the NOPD. The ambulance eventually stopped at Broad and Agriculture streets after being intercepted by other EMS units. The woman was then reportedly removed from the vehicle by EMS personnel and arrested by NOPD officers without incident. The woman was taken to University Medical Center for a psychological evaluation, and warrants are being sought for simple kidnapping in addition to other various traffic offenses.
