Kentwood man accused of raping a juvenile

KENTWOOD, La. (WGNO) — A Kentwood man was arrested on Thursday, Oct. 24, following an investigation involving the sexual assault of a juvenile.
Officials with the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office say that, a week prior to the arrest, they were alerted of the alleged abuse by the Department of Child and Family Services.
Lockport man accused of kidnapping, domestic abuse
During the ensuing investigation, detectives say they learned that 34-year-old Marcus Elzie had allegedly taken a juvenile to an abandoned location in Kentwood and committed the crime.

A warrant was then obtained for Elzie's arrest, and he was subsequently apprehended in Pike County, Mississippi. On Tuesday, Oct. 29, he was transported and booked into the Tangipahoa Parish Jail on one count of second-degree rape.
