DA: Murder charges filed after victims named as mother and son killed in Tulare

TULARE COUNTY, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – Special circumstance murder charges were filed against a 30-year-old man for the stabbing deaths of two people in Tulare, named in an online fundraiser as 58-year-old Melissa Quinn and 38-year-old Raymond Garza, according to the Tulare County District Attorney.
According to the DA's office, 30-year-old Fabian Gamez of Tulare is charged with two counts of first-degree murder and one felony count of first-degree residential burglary.

According to the DA's office, the charges are enhanced with special circumstances and allegations including that the crime consisted of multiple murders, the murders were committed during a burglary and the conduct was violent.
The charges also allege that the crime took planning and sophistication.
Gamez pleaded not guilty at Tuesday's arraignment. According to current California sentencing laws, the charged crimes carry a maximum sentence of death or life in prison without the possibility of parole.
