Field hockey pairings for NJSIAA Tournament announced

Several area field hockey teams are headed to the state tournament and Allentown, Notre Dame and Northern Burlington have garnered the highest seeds.
Allentown (15-5) is the No. 3 seed in South Jersey II and the Redbirds face No. 14 seed Barnegat (8-8) next Tuesday in Allentown.
Another local team in the SJ II bracket is No. 14 Robbinsville (7-10-1) and the Ravens will be on the road against a very good tNo. 2 seed Haddonfield (11-4-2).
The top-seed in the bracket is Point Pleasant Boro (15-5), which Allentown defeated, 2-1, earlier this season.
The No. 2 seed Irish (14-3) drew a first-round by and await the winner of No. 7 St. Rose (6-9-1) and No. 10 Red Bank Catholic (8-8-3) in South Jersey Non-Public Camden Catholic (14-1-1), one of the premier programs in the region, is the top-seed in the bracket.
Northern Burlington (12-4-2) is the No. 5 seed in South Jersey III and hosts No. 12 seed Mainland (9-5-3). Hammonton (15-1-1) is the top seed in the bracket.
Lawrence (11-6-1) and Princeton Day (5-9) are the only other local teams to earn a home game. The Cardinals are the No. 6 seed in North Jersey III and host Roxbury (11-8) on Tuesday. Northern Highlands (16-0), which has some tourney history with Lawrence, is the No. 1 seed in the NJ III bracket.
No. 8 seed Princeton Day is a team excited for the start of the second season in North Jersey Non-Public and awaiting No. 9 St. John Vianney (8-7-2) on Smoyer Field on Monday. Also, in the bracket is No. 12 Stuart (5-9-1) and the Tartans will be making their NJSIAA State Tournament debut traveling to No. 5 seed Mount St. Mary’s (12-5-1). Pingry is the No.1 seed in the NJ Non-Public bracket.
No. 13 seed Princeton (6-8) gets another shot at No. 4 seed Ridge (11-7-1) as the two meet in Ridge on Monday in North Jersey IV. It was Ridge that eliminated Princeton last year in the sectional final. Montclair (14-3) is the top-seed in the NJ IV bracket.
Hopewell Valley (14-5) is the No. 9 seed and heads to No. 8 seed Voorhees (11-6-2) in North Jersey Group II. Powerful West Essex (16-2) is the top-seed in NJ II.
Florence (6-9-1), which reached the sectional semifinals a year ago, is the No. 9 seed and heads down south to No. 8 Salem (8-5-1) on Monday in South Jersey Group I. No. 11 seed Bordentown (7-10) faces No. 6 Gateway (12-4) in the opening round on Monday. Shore (19-1) is the top-seed in the SJ I bracket.
