WESTFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Thousands are without power in the area of Ponders Hollow Road in Westfield after a vehicle crash Tuesday afternoon. According to Westfield Gas & Electric, at around 3:41 p.m. power was shut off to allow firefighters to access the crash that brought multiple lines down and caused a brush fire in the area of the DPW on 12 Ponders Hollow Road. Westfield Police set up barricades to remind drivers of Franklin Street lane pattern The outage is affecting approximately 2,200 customers in the area. As of 4 p.m. Westfield Gas & Electric is working to isolate the outage and reduce the number of customers to the Loomis Ridge area within the next few hours. The power company said that they have also called in additional crews to help make repairs.
