SMITHFIELD, R.I. (WPRI) — Police and fire crews responded to a hazmat incident at Bryant University on Tuesday afternoon. A university spokesperson told 12 News that a small amount of contained chemicals had to be removed from a lab classroom, which was not in session at the time. The Unistructure Building was evacuated as a precaution as the chemicals were packed up and removed. The building has since reopened and classes have resumed.
