Body of missing teen found in Terrebonne Parish, two arrested

TERREBONNE PARISH, La. (WGNO) — Two teenagers have been arrested following the discovery of a body in the Chauvin area.
According to the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff's Office, on Friday, Oct. 25 around 12:30 p.m., they received a call reporting a deceased male in a nearby wooded area near Alex Lane.

Through an investigation, deputies identified the victim as a 14-year-old male who had been reported missing.
Deputies alerted the victim's family of his death and the alleged motive.
Further investigation led detectives to link the death to a series of vehicle burglaries that had happened during the week. Two additional suspects were also involved, according to deputies, who are allegedly responsible in the victim's shooting death.
The two were taken in for questioning where they reportedly confessed to their actions in the teen's death.

The two were arrested on a charge of second-degree murder.
The investigation remains ongoing.
