(NewsNation) — A woman survived a snakebite and two weeks in the wilderness of an Australian mountain range before she was rescued over the weekend.
According to New South Wales (NSW) police, Lovisa "Kiki" Sjoberg was found "dazed and unwell" Sunday evening in the Snowy Mountains region of Kosciuszko National Park.
Sjoberg was found Sunday afternoon local time amid a widespread search for the 48-year-old, which included two helicopters, dogs and multiagency workers, the BBC reports.

Police said Sjoberg informed them she was bitten by a copperhead snake four days before her rescue. Within that time, she had also rolled her ankle and was suffering from dehydration.
"We held grave concerns for the missing woman and [are] very glad she’s been found safe and reasonably well," Monaro Police District Superintendent Toby Lindsay said in a press conference via the Australian Broadcasting Corporation.
Sjoberg was taken to the hospital following the rescue and is said to be stable.
“She’s in fact very fortunate to be alive ... she obviously went through a tough time," New South Wales Police Superintendent Toby Lindsay said.
