Medics and the fire department also arrived on the scene and attempted life-saving efforts on the student but were unsuccessful. The student was pronounced dead on the scene, according to ATCEMS. "It is with profound sadness that myself and the Board of Trustees share the heartbreaking news that the student involved in today’s tragic stabbing at Manor Senior High School has passed away. This loss is devastating for our entire community, and our hearts go out to their family, friends, and all who knew him. We know that words cannot ease the pain, and we are all grieving together," Manor ISD Superintendent Robert Sormani said in a statement late Tuesday afternoon. The district said school closed early on Tuesday and classes are canceled for Wednesday and Thursday at Manor High School, Manor Senior High School and Manor Early College High School. The district has not yet made a decision about classes for Friday, which officials said will be made at a future time. "We want to ensure our students and staff have the necessary time to process this loss and support one another," Sormani said in the statement. The district said counselors will be available starting Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Manor Early College High School. Additionally, counselors will be at Manor High School from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for students and staff. "When classes resume, we will have counselors available to continue to provide emotional support and guidance to any students and staff. It is important that everyone feels safe and heard during this time, and our team will be here to help," Sormani said. The district will review security on its campuses and understands "this situation raises concerns." "Our priority is to be present for all students and staff as we navigate this difficult time together," Sormani said. "Please take care of yourselves and reach out to one another. We are a community, and it is through our support for one another that we will find strength. Should you need any assistance or someone to talk to, do not hesitate to reach out."
