(KRON) -- A middle school in Concord went into lockdown on Monday afternoon after law enforcement received a threat involving a firearm on campus, according to the Concord Police Department. No credible threat was found at Oak Grove Middle School, however, a student was arrested in connection to the investigation. Concord police received the threat at 1:27 p.m. through a phone call that reported a firearm on a local school campus, authorities said. Officers were dispatched to Oak Grove Middle School and Cambridge Elementary, where the middle school was placed on lockdown for a safety check. The elementary school maintained a visible police presence. Lockdown lifted at Oakland's Frick United after melee between students, guardians and security Officers received information from a student while at the middle school that led to a possible suspect in the threat, Concord PD said. Following up on the lead, police learned the suspect was also a student at Oak Grove Middle School. The suspect was arrested by police at their residence for falsely reporting an emergency. The suspect student was later released to the custody of their parents.
