2 Election Day polling sites in Sedgwick County change names
Oct 29, 2024
WICHITA. Kan. (KSNW) - Two Wichita churches that will serve as Election Day polling sites on Nov. 5, 2024, recently changed their names.
Sedgwick County Election Commissioner Laura Rainwater is notifying voters assigned to these locations. Letters were mailed in early October, and ongoing social media posts let voters know that Northwest Christian Church, 10850 W. 21st St., is now Refuge Church, and West Side Church of God, 1900 W. McCormick St., is now Redeemer Church. Yard signs (below) at the polling sites on Election Day will also inform voters.
"The name change doesn’t affect the voting process at all," said Rainwater. "Voters will still go to the same assigned polling sites, but they’ll see the former church names on the ballots because they were finalized back in September."

Voters will also see the former church names if they check their assigned polling place and view a sample ballot on the Kansas Secretary of State's website.
