TOPEKA (KSNT) - City work crews are shutting down part of Southwest 17th Street in west Topeka Tuesday due to a water main break. Joe Harrington with the City of Topeka is closing westbound Southwest 17th Street between 17th Terrace and Kent Plaza due to a waterline break. No date was provided for when the work would be completed. Drivers are encouraged to follow a detour route while repairs take place. This route takes traffic south on Fairlawn Road to 21st Street, west on 21st Street to Wanamaker Road and north on Wanamaker Road back to 17th Street.
