SALEM, Mass. (WLNE) — The Salem Fire Department is now responding to a new brushfire in the Salem Woods area between First Street and the golf course this morning, according to officials.
Salem Police have shared that this fire is different from the weekend brushfire that started near Spring Pond.
According to the department, there are no structures at risk at this time.
Officials are asking residents to avoid outdoor activity in that area and close windows to maintain indoor air quality.
Salem Public School has since canceled all outdoor activities.
The brush fire in Middleton has grown more than 250 acres.
