Docs: Sheriff holds men at gunpoint, arrest for resisting

MUNCIE, Ind. — A Muncie man was arrested after allegedly speeding away when a sheriff attempted to stop his vehicle. The man crashed, and officials found illicit drugs and guns in the car.
Jerred Walker, 33, was arrested on the following charges:
Serious Violent Felon on Possession of Firearm, a Class 4 Felony
Possession of a Narcotic Drug, a Class 5 Felony
Resisting by Vehicle, a Level 6 Felony
Driving Under the Influence of Controlled Substance, a Class A Misdemeanor
Reckless Driving, a Class B Misdemeanor
Possession of Marijuana, a Class B Misdemeanor
According to court documents, an officer with the Delaware County Sheriff's Office was patrolling and working a pull-over operation on State Road 67 South when he noticed a car going 70 mph in a 55 mph zone. When he attempted to stop the vehicle, the driver reportedly sped up, swerved, and lost control of the car which led to his crash.
The officer found three individuals in the car. The reports said that the sheriff held them all at gunpoint until backup arrived. Upon arrival, authorities found two guns and 33 bags of substances. The bags contained fentanyl, crack cocaine, and heroin.
Walker was transported to the Delaware County Sheriff's Office Jail.
