MUNCIE, Ind. — A Muncie woman was arrested early Tuesday morning after she was reportedly bringing drugs from the Dayton, Ohio area back to Muncie.
According to court documents filed on Tuesday in Delaware County, 54-year-old Tamela Hollingsworth has been preliminarily charged with one count of dealing in methamphetamine, a Level 2 felony, and one count of dealing in a narcotic drug, a Level 2 felony.
At around 12:36 a.m. on Tuesday, an Audi with Indiana plates, driven by a woman later identified as Hollingsworth, was stopped by an officer with the Muncie Police Department after a traffic infraction. A K-9 officer with the department who assisted with the traffic stop deployed his K-9 partner, which reportedly indicated that there was narcotics in the vehicle.

During a search of the vehicle, the documents read that a brown plastic bag was located within the vehicle. The bag included two large Ziploc bags that "contained a crystal-like substance and a smaller plastic bag that contained a brown powdery substance."
The documents said that the crystal-like substance, which weighed around two pounds, tested positive for methamphetamine. The brown powdery substance was not field tested "due to officer safety and due to the bag leaking." However, the officer suggested in the documents that the brown substance, which weighed around 61 grams, was either heroin or fentanyl.
An initial investigation, according to the documents, led officers to believe that Hollingsworth was returning to Muncie from Trotwood, Ohio, the location where she reportedly picked up the narcotics.
After the vehicle was searched, Hollingsworth was taken into custody by officers, who then attempted to interview her. The documents said that Hollingsworth refused to talk without her lawyer.
